Trouble with cellulite?

So, okay, I know I’m not the only person to ever experience this but, what the heck is up with the cellulite? You exercise, you diet, you take drastic measures just short of amputation and that stuff just sticks on the back of your thighs like glue. I mean, come on. There has got to be an answer…so I started digging around and here’s what I found out.

  • Cellulite occurs in both men and women however it is most common in women (of course).

  • It hits you at puberty due mostly due to hormonal changes.

  • It is not always related to obesity. There are plenty of average and even underweight people who have cellulite.

  • Estrogen seems to have an aggravating affect on cellulite making it worse (explains why women get it often and men rarely do)

  • Genetics are a factor. (Thanks Mom!)

  • Diet is also a factor. Large amounts of fat and carbs or not getting enough fiber increase cellulite. (Put down that donut!)

  • Underwear (can you believe this?) Specifically, bikini underwear that have elastic around the legs that runs across your butt. Apparently, because the elastic limits the blood flow, it becomes a breeding ground for cellulite.

  • Lack of exercise can be a factor in increasing the appearance of cellulite. (Well duh!)

  • There are actually classifications for cellulite. From grade one which you can’t see but its under there, grade 2 which presents decreased elasticity after a muscle contraction but still no dimple, grade 3 (here it is ladies), which shows visible dimpling or “orange peel,” and finally grade 4 which can actually be painful (not just ugly) lumps.

It’s a pretty bleak picture I paint, I know. It seems as though there is no hope for those of us plagued by dimpled butts and cottage cheese thighs. But alas, dear friends, there are options (clearly amputation is the last resort). Here is a rundown of treatments to reduce cellulite:

  • There are a variety of cellulite creams; oils and lotions available (at I-supplements.com of course!) to help burn stubborn fat transdermally. Try the Yohimburn ES extreme fat burner lotion.

  • Control stress and anxiety. Research has shown this option to be extremely beneficial in cellulite reduction.

  • Laser therapy, which combines light, heat and radio frequency energy (ELOS) to the skin.

  • Amputation. (I’m just kidding!)

NOTE: Don’t run out and have liposuction. It extracts fat from under the skin but it may actually make the cellulite appearance WORSE!
