Meaty Turkey-Bean Chili


  • 3 lb. Lean ground turkey (93%- or 97-lean is best)
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 jar salsa (mild, spicy, or medium depending on your taste)—any brand
  • 1 jar marinara sauce—any brand, plain or herb
  • 2 tbsp. Chili powder
  • 1 tbsp. Black pepper
  • water


Brown ground turkey, and drain well. Dice green pepper and onion. In large stew pot, combine turkey, salsa, marinara sauce, kidney and black beans (both drained), diced green pepper and onion, chili powder, and pepper. Refill the marinara sauce jar with water and add that to the pot. Stir well. Simmer for 3 hours. Stirring occasionally. This chili is great served with pasta or brown rice to make a complete meal. It also freezes well and is even better once it sits a day or two!!
