Smoothie Recipes


Peanut Butter Smoothie

1 Tbsp natural peanut butter
½ cup low fat vanilla frozen yogurt
¼ tsp almond extract
1/3-cup low fat milk
2 tsp flaxseed oil
1 tbsp slivered or sliced almonds

Whip peanut butter and frozen yogurt together for about 5 seconds. Combine almonds, flax oil and almond extract and blend for 5 seconds. Add milk and blend for an additional 5 seconds till at the consistency you would like.

Berry Smoothie

½ cup low fat tofu
½ cup frozen sliced or whole strawberries
½ cup frozen blueberries
½ cup frozen raspberries
¼ cup low calorie cranberry juice
¼ tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp wheat germ (Optional)

Defrost frozen fruit for about 5-7 minutes. When finished combine tofu, and fruit and blend for about 10-15 seconds. Add remaining ingredients and mix for about 10 seconds.

Avocado Smoothie

¼ cup fresh avocado, mashed
1 tsp honey
1 banana, frozen, then split into 3-4 pieces
½ cup low fat milk
½ cup frozen mango pieces
1/3 cup peach nectar

Combine avocado and milk in a blender. Add honey, banana and mango and blend for about 10 seconds. Add peach nectar and mix for another 5 seconds.

Pina Colada Smoothie

½ cup low fat tofu
¾ cup frozen pineapple chunks
½ cup low fat coconut yogurt
1 tbsp flaxseed oil
¼ tsp coconut extract
1/3-cup water

In a blender mix tofu and pineapple chunks on the whip setting for about 20-30 seconds until blended well. Add yogurt, flax oil, coconut extract and water. Combine for about 10-15 seconds.

Chocolate Smoothie

½ cup crushed ice
1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1/41/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp blackstrap molasses
¼ cup low fat milk
1-cup low fat vanilla frozen yogurt
1 tsp crushed almonds

Combine ice, cocoa powder, vanilla, molasses and milk. Blend for about 10-15 seconds or until smooth. Add frozen yogurt and blend for 5-10 more seconds.
